note: open play is the only option for ncaa players. open play is also open to current roster league player interested in extra playing time as well as non-ncaa adults that are not playing in the league.
North East Premier (NEPL) is a recognized 501(3)(c) nonprofit field hockey league. Our mission is simple:
To provide a competitive adult (non-NCAA) field hockey league in Boston and to promote the sport within our community.
MILESTONES TO-DATE WE ARE PROUD OF:
2014 Launched the co-ed league with only 6 teams
2015 Featured on The Boston Globe. Grew league to 8 teams
2016 Launched our Dirty Water Tournament, which is a standalone co-ed tournament around the 4th of July weekend.
2017 Partnered with USFHL (National League) sending our 2017 Champions to the 2018 Nationals for the first time
2018 Expanded season by 2 weeks and increased game minutes of semi-final and championship games. Our ‘17 Champs participated at Nationals held in Philadelphia, PA.
Grow to 10 teams (from 8). Engage more and new individuals to join.
Semi-final and Finals games per FIH rules. They will now be 60 min with (4) minute periods.
Host same gender “Invitational” games
Start Scholarship Fund for FH teams to travel and participate in out-of-area tournaments
Indoor League for 2019-20 Season
Improve our communication throughout the year
We are committed to keeping the league as affordable as possible and with our continued rental fee increases, the Board continues to find creative ways to keep expanding our field hockey reach at the same time maintaining the fees relatively constant.
Our 2019 fundraising target is $5,000.

ADULT (non-ncaa) LEAGUE:
Players without any NCAA conflicts or that have exhausted their eligibility
11 v 11 format (full field) with standard FIH rules
50 minute games weekly with (2) 25 minute halves
Games are mostly on Tuesdays & Thursdays
Two officials per game (rated Level II and up)
Three (3) field men allowed on the field (goalies do not count towards the tally)
Top 8 teams (out of 10) qualify for playoffs
